The Center for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders offers a nurturing haven where individuals with ASD and their families find safety, respect, and unwavering support. Through a holistic approach, encompassing specialized therapies, educational programs, and family involvement, we empower each child to reach their full potential and achieve life’s goals.

Assessment and diagnosis

Our assessments are conducted by skilled medical professionals who specialize in pediatric development and ASD , and they obtain detailed histories from both the child and their family members.

( 1 ) The parents are expected to contact ‘room 22’ (psychiatry ward) and obtain an appointment to review the child.

( 2 ) Thereafter the child will be assessed along with standard psychological assessments. The diagnosis will be confirmed under the guidance of consultant child psychiatrist.

( 3 ) The parents will be guided to a clinical psychologist from there on. Here on, the child’s intervention plan will be managed by the multi-disciplinary team meetings

Multi-disciplinary meeting

The multi disciplinary team of LRH consists of two Consultant Child and Adolescent psychiatrists, medical officers, nursing officers, psychiatric social workers, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and Physiotherapists. We also receive services of a Clinical Psychologist sponsored by Vision Care Optical Services (Pvt) Ltd. Our staff is committed to continuously update themselves regarding new developments in the field of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in order to provide optimal care for our patient and their families. Children with Autism are taken cared of while providing care for children with many other emotional and behavioral problems
and developmental disorders.

Our staff try their level best to provide these children and families a family focused, system-based
management with holistic approach. But we are currently faced with a grave issue of lack of space
and infrastructure facilities to conduct the multidisciplinary clinic throughout the week and also to
difficulty in providing services such as psychological assessment, special education, speech
therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy which is crucial towards the optimum
development of children with ASD.

Apart from diagnosis carrying out other interventions
systematically has been a challenge with the growing numbers of children with Autism due to lack
of space. Also it is such a hazzle for the patient and caregivers.

Parent Training Program

We’re pleased to offer a comprehensive training program, thoughtfully curated for parents and caregivers of children with Autism, with a keen consideration for parental convenience by scheduling it once a month.

Day: Second Tuesday of every month

Time: 11:00 am – 12:00noon

( 2 )Parent burnout program

Day: Second Tuesday of every month

Time: 2:00 pm – 3:00pm

Venue: Old auditorium, Lady Ridgeway Hospital
